This fall, 21 volunteers from Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba’s Italian Grill brought a taste of home to United States and coalition troops stationed overseas. The Feeding Freedom VI mission made stops throughout the Middle East serving approximately 21,000 service men and women. The menu featured signature dishes such as Bloomin’ Onions, Cavatappi Amatraciana and for dessert the Chocolate Chocolate Tower and Amaretto Swirl Cheesecake. Also served was calamari, baked potatoes, boule bread with herbs and olive oil, chargrilled strip steak and mushroom ravioli.
This mission marked Outback’s sixth trip overseas to feed United States and coalition soldiers. Past missions have been to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Djibouti and aboard the USS Nimitz. This is the third year that Outback and Carrabba's have made this effort together. During these missions, a total of 117 volunteers have fed over 100,000 soldiers.
Outback is very fortunate and proud to be able to serve our troops in this way. It is an honor knowing that we have brought a smile and boosted morale by providing a taste of home to the brave men and women that are representing our country overseas.
